Pair of blue and white earthenware pharmacy jars – Italian Renaissance style – 20th century

Pair of apothecary jars with matching lids, in white glazed earthenware with blue decoration, made in the 20th century in the style of the Italian Renaissance.

Their waisted silhouette is accentuated by blue arched motifs, friezes, and bands. Gothic-style inscriptions in patinated gold tones adorn the bodies. The domed lids are topped with blue knobs.

Handwritten mark under the base, reading "F.2 Faenza", with no certain attribution to a workshop.

Condition

A chip on the upper rim of one of the jars, revealing the terracotta, is visible in the photographs. Fine crazing of the glaze and traces of wear. Both lids are present. Decorative set sold as is.
