Very beautiful set of 12 Gien earthenware plates, “Les Aventures du Fermier – Histoire en six assiettes” series, a gastronomic collection published by the renowned Faïencerie de Gien, France.

The set brings together two complementary series:

– 6 “Les Fromages / Les aventures du crémier” plates: Brie, Cœur de Bray, Valençay, Roquefort, Camembert, Chabichou. (diameter 20.5cm)

– 6 “La Ferme / Les aventures du fermier” plates: Rabbit, Guinea fowl, Duck, Hen, Rooster, Turkey. (Dimensions 30.5x22cm)

Each plate features a humorous and gastronomic design, with vintage typography, a central color illustration, and a black/red border. The backstamps bear the Gien France mark, the Le Collectionneur mention, as well as the indications hand-painted, fired at 1150°, and guaranteed indelible decoration.

The Faïencerie de Gien, founded in 1821 in the Loire Valley, is one of the great French earthenware manufacturers. This vintage series is part of the house's decorative and gastronomic collections, highly sought after for their retro charm and French bistro spirit.
