Set of 4 vintage blonde wood and brown fabric sled chairs – 1960s

Set of 4 vintage "sled" or "luge" chairs, probably dating from the 1960s-1970s, in the Baumann style.

Very beautiful modernist line with a curved light wood frame, slender side supports and a suspended padded backrest. Their light and graphic silhouette recalls French post-war furniture productions, notably in the spirit of Baumann chairs, with a highly sought-after Scandinavian aesthetic.

The seats and backrests are upholstered in a mottled brown fabric with a warm texture, typical of the 60s/70s. The contrast between the varnished light wood and the brown fabric brings a lot of charm and fits as well in a vintage interior as in a contemporary decoration, around a wooden table, a tulip table or in a mid-century style dining room.

The lot includes 4 matching chairs.

Ideal for a dining room, a vintage kitchen, an office or a Scandinavian / mid-century style interior.

Seat height 47 cm.

Condition

good overall vintage condition. Stable structure. Some normal signs of use related to age: small marks, scratches, light dents and wear on the wood, visible in the photos. The fabric has a beautiful overall appearance, with a consistent patina. The set retains a lot of charm and remains perfectly decorative and usable.
