About this piece

Beautiful antique travel trunk with a domed lid, made of wood and reinforced with a network of blackened metal bands, corners, and fittings. Its two front latches and sturdy construction evoke 19th-century transport trunks.

Highly decorative, it can become a storage unit, an end-of-bed chest, or a low side table. The warm patina of the wood contrasts with the dark and irregular appearance of the fittings.

Condition

Antique condition with numerous traces consistent with age: dents, cracks, wear, oxidation, and old repairs. The blackened metal fittings reinforce its authentic character.
