Roolf Paris triple photo frame – Louis XVI style – circa 1900

Elegant Louis XVI-style triple photo frame, probably dating from the late 19th or early 20th century.

It features three rectangular compartments with bevelled glass, united by a gilded metal frame. The neoclassical decoration combines openwork pediments with crowns and ribbons, foliate motifs and rosettes between the views. Two ball feet and a rear easel allow the whole to be displayed on a piece of furniture.

The backs bear the printed mark "Roolf – Paris – Marque de Fabque déposée", accompanied by a crowned emblem.

A decorative set to showcase three photographs or family portraits.

Condition

patina, oxidation and wear to the gilded finish. Old backs stained and worn, with damage to the corners of the back. Visible accident to one corner of the central glass, with chip and apparent crack.
