About this piece
Elegant free-standing photo frame in Louis XVI style, probably dating from the late 19th or early 20th century.
It features thick clear glass, widely bevelled around the edges, held in place by a gilded metal frame, probably made of brass. An openwork pediment decorated with tied ribbons crowns the piece. Two small ball feet and a rear easel allow for vertical display.
Designed to hold a photograph or portrait, this frame will find its place on a chest of drawers, desk, or console table. No signature found.
Condition
Patina on the gilded metal, with traces of oxidation and visible wear, particularly on the back. The glass shows no apparent cracks in the photographs.
